Help the victims of the Iowa floods!
Remember the outpouring of support from across the country following the events of April 16th? Now
is the time to give back!
Did you know that the Governor of Iowa is a
Hokie? (Chet Culver, 1988)
We are assisting the Greenbelt Rotary
club in collecting supplies to be sent out to Iowa. Supplies can be donated at two locations:
Particularly needed are: canned foods,
bottled water, baby formula, disposable diapers, clean bed and bath
linens, clean clothing, kitchen utensils, cook-ware, and dinner ware.
From the Chapter President:
"Last
year when the Hokie Nation was hurting the people of Iowa and all over the Midwest reached out with their hearts to offer
us aid and comfort. Now we have the opportunity to say thank you with our actions instead of our words. Now is
our chance for us to show them just what the Hokie Nation is really all about. Lets show the world what some dedicated
Hokies can do in the wake of a natural disaster. We need to get the word out to every Hokie you know and tell them of
the need. These are good people who have lost everything : their homes, their possessions and in many cases THEIR JOBS
too!!! We need to help these people who have lost everything but their spirit. They need help to start over and they
need hope. Lets give it to them by opening our hearts, stretching out our hands and offering them aid and comfort in
their time of crisis. What can we count on you for?"
